Registration - Stage 2




The Israel Golden Trail - Sample Itinerary





  • Start out on your adventure as you meet your Group Staff at your gateway airport
  • Board your flight to Israel - you're on your way!





  • Shalom and Welcome Home!
  • Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport and meet your Tour Educator
  • Ascend to Jerusalem and say Shehehianu on the Haas Promenade facing the Old City
  • Opening sessions - meet and bond with your fellow group members on your journey through Israel
  • Meet Momo - Shlomo (Momo) Lifshitz, President of Oranim Educational Initiatives for an Opening Session on Israel, Safety, and Security
  • Overnight: Jerusalem










  • Visit the ancient Bahai Gardens, resting atop Haifa
  • Hike along one of the sources of the Jordan River at the Tel Dan Nature Reserve
  • Visit an Israeli Army Outpost - get an idea of what your Israeli peers are doing
  • Ascend the Golan Heights and view deep into Syria from atop Mount Bental
  • Head to Mitzpe Gadot to view the Hulah Valley and hear about Israel's Master Spy, Eli Cohen
  • Take a mid-day break to enjoy a refreshing Kayaking adventure down the Jordan River
  • Drive across the Galilee to Zfat, City of Mystical Judaism (Kabbalah). Like Madonna, you can explore the narrow alleyways lined with ancient synagogues and artists galleries.
  • Enjoy a swim in the Tiberias Hot Springs in the evening
  • Overnight: Tiberias





  • Meet the cool Israeli soldiers who will be traveling with you for the next 5-days after breakfast in the hotel
  • Enjoy a short "get-to-know-you" session with your soldiers at the hotel
  • Take a stroll through the Kinneret Courtyard where the first pioneers came to, including those that first formulated the idea of the Kibbutz
  • Hike Mt. Arbel, in The Lower Galilee near Tiberias which was split into two after an earthquake
  • Continue exploring The Lower Galilee with a water hike in the Banias
  • Head to the ancient city of Beit She'arim to visit the most important burial place in the Jewish world during the Mishnaic and Talmudic periods
  • Return to Tiberias to enjoy an evening on the Promenade
  • Overnight: Tiberias





  • Visit the Roman city of Cesaria
  • Onward to Tel Aviv to enjoy the colorful and vibrant arts fair on Nahalat Binyamin Street
  • Tour Dizengoff Centre, one of Israel's first shopping malls and enjoy lunch from the many pre-Shabbat vendors
  • Head to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat
  • Kabbalat Shabbat on the beach at sunset
  • Traditional Shabbat Dinner at the hotel
  • Enjoy Friday night nightlife like an Israeli at the former Tel Aviv Port
  • Overnight: Tel Aviv










  • Have a hands-on experience with the past as you participate in an archeological dig
  • Explore the unique bell caves at Beit Guvrin
  • Stop at the Israel Air Force Museum on the Hatzerim Air Force Base just outside of Beer Sheva
  • Head south for and enjoy Bedouin hospitality
  • Go on a camel trek deep in the desert
  • Enjoy a Bedouin Hafla (feast) and program
  • Participate in a surprise activity planned by the Israeli solders who are touring with you
  • Party with the Bedouins' for a special Desert Music Performance
  • Overnight: A million star hotel - a Bedouin Tent deep in the desert





  • Ascend Masada at sunrise via the Roman Ramp and explore the ancient palace built by Herod, which was the last sovereign Jewish territory for almost 2000 years
  • Hike your way down the mountain by way of the infamous Snake Path
  • Stop at the Ein Gedi Desert Oasis known for its numerous caves, springs, and its rich diversity of flora and fauna
  • Enjoy lunch and a chance to swim (float) in the Dead Sea
  • Continue south to the resort town of Eilat - Israel's Cancun!
  • Take a dip in the white sanded beaches of the Red Sea
  • Browse through the Promenade and enjoy dinner on your own
  • Experience Eilats' breathtaking nighttime views as we party tonight on a private party boat
  • Overnight: Eilat





  • Ascend the Red Canyon, one of the Eilat Mountains' most beautiful hikes
  • Enjoy another chance to dip your toes in the blue waters of the Red Sea
  • Head north to view the awe-inspiring Ramon Crater
  • Continue to Sde-Boker, home of the grave of David Ben Gurion and discuss his dreams: a Jewish State and Turning the Desert Green
  • Onward to the Jerusalem Area for a seminar on programs that will bring you back to Israel to volunteer, to study and to live.
  • Background session on the Holocaust
  • Overnight: Jerusalem area





  • Visit Yad Vashem, the Memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and those who rose up against the Nazis
  • Onward to Mt. Herzl, Israel's National Cemetery. Visit the graves of Zionist luminaries like Herzl, Golda Meir and Yitzhak Rabin as well as soldiers who fell in Israel's wars.
  • Farewell visit to the Western Wall
  • An introduction to the Oranim Ambassadors program
  • Closing session with Shlomo (Momo) Lifshitz, President of Oranim Educational Initiatives
  • Say good bye to the Israeli soldiers - your friends (this is soooooooooo sad...)
  • Head to Ben Gurion Airport
